Analytics

For details of how students have engaged with your list click the graph symbol on the right-hand pane of the list that you would like to view Analytics for.

Cropped view of the icons on the right side of the leganto interface. The icon for analytics is highlighted. This icon is a small bar-chart,

This will open a breakdown of how students have engaged with your list at large and with individual items including information on:

  • Active students - unique students who used the list in any way
  • Total full text access - the number of times students opened links to electronic resources, with multiple clicks by the same student counted each time.
  • Number of loans - the number of times an item was loaned during the course dates, which counts all loans by all staff and students, not uniquely your module students.

You can also export this information to an Excel spreadsheet:

The analytics screen of an example list. The option to the export the information to the right of the screen is highlighted.

Using these analytics can help you edit your resource list to include items which have the most engagement, and to help you consider how best to structure your list according to usage over the course of the semester.

Remember if you choose to provide materials outside of the reading list software these analytics may not be representative of your students' engagement. Make sure when embedding materials in your module that you use direct links to the reading list.
