Reading and Resource Lists

A guide for academic staff on Reading and Resource Lists

Accessing Reading & Resource Lists

Resource lists can be accessed, edited and submitted for review:

  1. directly through the Resource List software
  2. directly from your module in MyDundee via the link contained in the Library Resources folder, however, we recommend accessing through the main Resource List website for a better user experience when creating or doing substantial edits to lists.

We recommend logging into Resource Lists to be given access to the full functionality of the software and to also have quick access to the resource lists you already have created or have editing permissions for. Clicking on 'Log in'  in the top right hand corner will allow you the option to login using the usual UoD username and password.

Finding Reading & Resource Lists

When you login to Resource Lists and look for your list, please note that your list may be in draft format, or not yet published. In order to find, edit or create your Resource List you will need to login and search by module code, module name or instructor name. Make sure you choose the correct year and semester for your module.

I can't find my list, how can I make a new one?

If you can't find a reading list for your course from searching Leganto this might be because the list hasn't been created by the library yet. You can email us to let us know at readinglists@dundee.ac.uk but if you'd like to begin work on your list right away it's possible to create a new list via the reading list link on MyDundee.

Begin by clicking the Library: Resource Lists link on the course that you'd like to create a list for

MyDundee modules page for a sample course with the link to the course's reading list circled in red.

You should then be redirected to a page which will give you the option to create a list from scratch using the Leganto software, or to upload a file containing the resources you would like added by the library.

Reading list quick-start webpage which appears when a course doesn't have a list associated to it already. The page gives the option to create a list yourself from scratch or to contact the library to create the list on your behalf.
