It's possible to link your Endnote account, or another reference manager, to Leganto and import references that you've collected there directly into your reading list. To do this you will need an Endnote web account.

CONNECTING ENDNOTE TO YOUR LEGANTO ACCOUNT

First, to link your endnote web account click the settings icon and select Reference managers from the drop down menu

On the next page select Endnote from the list of reference mangers, then click connect

Endnote has been selected from the list. There is an option to connect to Endnote or cancel the action.

This will take you to the login page for EndNote online. Enter your login details and you should be asked to authorise the link between Leganto and EndNote, click authorise and then return to Leganto once this is confirmed

A webpage asking you to authorise connecting Leganto to your EndNote account. The page states that it's possible to revoke access at any time from the account management page in EndNote online. You are given the option to authorise or deny access.

The EndNote webpage updates to confirm that you have authorised access to your EndNote account and that you can close the page and return to Leganto.

It should now show EndNote as connected when you return to Leganto

The pop-out window of reference managers in Leganto now indicates that EndNote has been connected with a green tick-box. There are options to disconnect EndNote or to connect another reference manager.

You can find your Favourites on the left hand side of the screen. You can easily add items to Favourites using the library search, Cite-it tool, items from other reading lists, citations from your reference manager, manual entries and even files. Occasionally, you might need to add a resource manually. For instance, it could be that the Cite it! button doesn't work with a particular publisher and the library does not already hold the material in our catalogue. Follow these steps to add a manual resource:

Access the reading list you'd like to make changes to. Click the Add button on the left hand side of the screen and select Manual entry from the drop-down menu

The Add menu is expanded in a Leganto reading list. The option for manual entry is highlighted.

You will then be prompted for the material Type and Title.

Note: If you'd like to students to read a chapter/section from a book that the library doesn't already hold, rather than needing access to the whole book, please select Book Chapter as the item type here. If we need to digitise the material this will help us to do this as quickly as possible.

Once you have added the Type and Title click Next.
