It's easy to add any web based resource to your resource list or favourites once you have installed the Cite it! bookmarklet to your browser bookmark bar. To do this:
Click on the settings wheel in top right hand corner of Leganto.
Click on Cite It! then follow the instructions in the pop-up window to install the Cite It! bookmark.

Cite It! will automatically harvest the title, URL, and other details. Remember to check for accuracy when adding resources to your list. Not all sites will work with the Cite It! bookmark, for a list of supported sites click here.
* to make your bookmark bar visible on your browser - Chrome, Edge
It's possible to link your Endnote account, or another reference manager, to Leganto and import references that you've collected there directly into your reading list. To do this you will need an Endnote web account.
First, to link your endnote web account click the settings icon and select Reference managers from the drop down menu
On the next page select Endnote from the list of reference mangers, then click connect
This will take you to the login page for EndNote online. Enter your login details and you should be asked to authorise the link between Leganto and EndNote, click authorise and then return to Leganto once this is confirmed
It should now show EndNote as connected when you return to Leganto
Open the reading list that you'd like to add citations to and EndNote should now appear under Import References use the search bar to find the references you want to add, you can search by tag here too.
Your Favourites (formerly Collections) are where you can store citations for resources that you might want to add to your reading lists in future. You can find your Favourites on the left hand side of the screen. You can easily add items to Favourites using the library search, Cite-it tool, items from other reading lists, citations from your reference manager, manual entries and even files. You can also add private free-text tags to items to help you organise and filter your favourites.

If you want to add items to your reading list from Favourites you can do this by checking the citations that you'd like to add either individually or using the bulk option and then selecting Add to list. From here, select the list and section you'd like the citations added to. Remember you can use the filter and search options before selecting items in bulk.
Occasionally, you might need to add a resource manually. For instance, it could be that the Cite it! button doesn't work with a particular publisher and the library does not already hold the material in our catalogue. Follow these steps to add a manual resource:
Access the reading list you'd like to make changes to. Click the Add button on the left hand side of the screen and select Manual entry from the drop-down menu
You will then be prompted for the material Type and Title.
Note: If you'd like to students to read a chapter/section from a book that the library doesn't already hold, rather than needing access to the whole book, please select Book Chapter as the item type here. If we need to digitise the material this will help us to do this as quickly as possible.
Once you have added the Type and Title click Next.
On page 2 fill out the requested information in as much detail as you can. Including particularly:
On page 3 you can choose what section you would like the citation added to, to add a public note for students, your tag importance and whether you'd like to submit a digitisation request (this will automatically populate with the citation information if the page numbers were already added)
Note: that even if a digitisation request is submitted, if an ebook is available this may be purchased in place of a digitised section
