My Dundee - Student

Download documents in original and alternative formats

What is it?

Your module has many different kinds of content. Ally creates alternative formats for those content items. You can download the alternative formats anywhere Ally's Download Alternative Formats button is available. The button appears as a letter A beside the name of the item.

Sign in to My Dundee and Navigate to your module. If a Download Alternative Formats button is associated with an item, you can download a format that suits your learning needs.

What does it do?

When your instructor uploads a file to your module, you may have the option to download the original file (if your instructor has allowed this). You will always be able to download this in an alternative format.

What should I know?

Step 1: Find the file you want to download, and click on the document. Here you will see the Alternative format 'A' on the top right corner to download alternative format and, if you instructor has allowed it, Download Original File.

Step 2: To download the original file, select this option and then open the file from wherever your browser saves downloaded files.

Step 3: To download an alternative file, select this option. A pop-up window will appear with the formats that are available to download for that file.
