"Instant Formatting is off" error

There is a bug in the current version of EndNote 2025, which means citations and references may not appear as expected in Word.

To fix this, go to the EndNote toolbar in Word and change "Instant Formatting is Off" to "Instant Formatting is On".

Change "Instant Formatting is Off" to "Instant Formatting is On" via the EndNote Toolbar within Word. This setting is a drop down menu in the bibliography section of the toolbar.
