Locating Your Questionmark Assessment

Assessment information

If you are required to take a Questionmark OnDemand (QMOD) assessment, your module leader should make the following details available:

  • Where to access the assessment (teaching module / exam module)
  • The name and/or brief description of the assessment
  • When the assessment is available to you (e.g. start date/time and end date/time)
  • Assessment time limit if applicable – this is the length of time you have to complete your assessment after pressing start (e.g. 30 minutes or 1 hour)
  • The number of attempts available to you (e.g. restricted to 1 attempt, or unlimited attempts)
  • An indication of the marking scheme/scoring (especially if negative marking is to be used)

Where can I access my assessment?

Questionmark assessments may be referred to with different names depending on school/module leader. These may include; quiz, test, class test, coursework, computer marked assessment (CMA), exam or sometimes an abbreviation of the assessment name.

 

For coursework that is not invigilated - teaching module in My Dundee

Within your live teaching module in My Dundee (unless otherwise instructed):

  • Locate the Assessment and Feedback Area. This area should contain information on all assessments taking place in the module.
  • Find the folder or document relating to the appropriate Questionmark assessment.
  • Open the folder/document. It is important for you to take some time to read the instructions on this page: ensuring it is the correct assessment, checking the number of attempts and what to do if you encounter any problems.
  • After reading all available information, click on the ‘Access all Questionmark assessments scheduled to you’ link which will open in a new browser tab/window.
  • You’re now in Questionmark OnDemand (QMOD).
  • You should have access to a generic practice assessment – further information is provided on this below.

(Note: QMOD assessments are set to be available for a set access period as requested by your module leader, if it is outwith this window, the folder or document relating to the Questionmark assessment may not be visible to students. If you can’t see the relevant assessment information and it is during the access period, contact your module leader in the first instance.)

For in person coursework or exams - invigilated in IT Suites on campus

Guidance will be provided by your module teaching team on how to access your exam. Ensure you read through all instructions before getting started with your exam.

Practice assessment

We’ve created a short five question generic practice assessment to allow you access to Questionmark in advance of your module assessment/exam. The practice assessment has been designed to demonstrate some of the most common question types. It gives you unlimited attempts at the assessment in order for you to:

  • familiarise yourself with how to get logged in, start a QMOD assessment, the layout and how to navigate, customise accessibility features, answer questions and successfully submit
  • test any device you might use to access the assessment to ensure it will work and hopefully iron out any potential problems before the day of your assessment.

You will find this listed in My Assessments in QMOD, called “Questionmark Practice Assessment 2024-25”.

 

Assistive Technology

If you have a recommendation from Disability Services for assistive technology, you should use the practice assessment to ensure you are familiar with how this works in conjunction with Questionmark. More information on assistive technologies is provided by Disability Services.

Tips

  • Check out the Questionmark troubleshooting guide or complete the Questionmark troubleshooting form if you need to contact the Assessment team.
  • Don’t leave it to 5 minutes before the assessment/exam to access the practice assessment. The earlier you access it, the more time you give yourself to resolve any potential issues.
  • We strongly suggest you locate and start your assessment/exam at the earliest convenient time to you.
  • You may have more than one QMOD assessment available to you, so please ensure you select the correct one!
