If you miss the zine fests there are lots of places where you can browse and purchase zines around Scotland to take home with you.


DUNDEE

  • Keiller Centre -  Volk Gallery
    Volk Gallery is a non-institutional arts venue based in Dundee, Scotland. Consisting of a repurposed nappy vending machine, Volk Gallery is hung in the publicly accessible locale of the Keiller Centre. A rotation of products are dispensed at a set price of £3 each, this can include zines. Works are completed by commissioned artists and change monthly.

     

GLASGOW

  • Goodpress
    Good Press is a workers cooperative dedicated to the promotion, distribution and production of independent or self published printed matter alongside co-projects Sunday’s Print Service and Lunchtime Gallery. They are a bookshop, events space, risograph printer and bookmaking studio.
  • Print Culture
    Independent magazines from all over the world. Covering a range of different topics about fashion, art, culture, travel, architecture or design.
  • CCA - Aye Aye Books
    Bookshop from independent publishers around the world with a particular focus on work made by and about today’s Scottish artists including zines and small-press publications.
  • Category is Books
    Category Is Books is an independent LGBTQIA+ bookshop in the southside of Glasgow stocking new and second hand queer books, magazines, graphic novels, comics, zines.
  • Street Level Photoworks
    Street Level Photoworks is a photography gallery in Glasgow who stock a small collection of photography zines.

     

EDINBURGH

  • The Red Door Gallery
    Independent Gallery and shop selling zines.
  • Typewronger Books
    Typewronger Books is a bookshop, events space, and risograph print studio. Run as a not-for-profit company, we sell new books, indie publications and zines to fund various creative projects
  • Lighthouse Bookshop
    Queer-owned, Intersectional feminist bookshop in Edinburgh with a focus on radical, left-wing and Scottish politics, intersectional feminism, revolutionary history, environmentalism, LGBT+ writing, poetry and translated fiction.
