There are often talks and workshops  from zine-makers, collectors and art technicians to give you an opportunity to learn about their work and introduce you to new zine-making techniques.  Zine fests are organised all over the world and are sometimes specifically related to certain types of zines, like the Dear Diary zine fest in California which is specifically for people who make perzines.
