Manage your organisation availability

What is it?

Organisation availability is a setting that allows your module to be either closed or open to students.

What does it do?

Organisation availability enables you to keep everything private while you are preparing content, and make it accessible to students once you are ready. When the organisation is set to closed, students will still see it listed in their ‘Organisation’ tab, but they cannot access it.

What should I know?

There are a few different ways to open or close an organisation in My Dundee, depending on whether you are in tile view, list view, or within the organisation itself.

In grid view:

1. Locate the organisation tile on your list of organisation.
2. A closed organisation displays a padlock icon on the course tile.
3. Click the three dots (…) in the top right corner of the course tile.
4. Select organisation settings.
5. Select the radio button in organisation setting to open or close the course.

In list view:

1. Locate your organisation in the list.
2. A closed organisation has a padlock icon in the bottom left corner.
3. Click the three dots (…) in the top right corner.
4. Select organisation settings.
5. Use Radio button to choose organisation setting.

Within the organisation:

1. In the top-right corner of the organisation, check the pill icon to see if the organisation is open or closed.

2. Click either the organisation settings link or the Closed/Open icon to open the organisation settings page.
3. Use the radio buttons to switch between Closed and Open.

4. Once the organisation is set to Open, the icon will change to a blue Open icon in the organisation header.

Hiding an Organisation (instructor only)

Leaders can hide organisations from their own view to keep their list tidy or to stop receiving notifications.

Note: The option to hide an organisation does not hide it from students.
