Working in UK

Working in the UK

If your passport sticker or identity card gives you permission to work in the UK, you may wish to gain experience through part-time work or volunteering. Despite the pandemic, many employers are still recruiting and some organisations are offering remote roles.

If you plan to work in the UK you will need a National Insurance (NI) number. If you have a biometric residence permit (BRP), you might have a National Insurance number already - it will be printed on the back of your BRP if you do. If you do not have a National Insurance number, you can apply for one by calling 0800 141 2075 – lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
