Support Smart: Respect and Consent

Student Services' support guide for Academic School Staff and other student facing staff

Consent and Respect Matters

Respect at University of Dundee.

We encourage all members of the University  community to be aware of their behaviour and interaction with others - and of the impact this may have. Discriminatory and negative behaviour is not tolerated and may also be unlawful. This includes:

  • sexual assault
  • sexual violence
  • sexism - prejudice or discrimination based on gender; behavior, conditions, or attitudes that foster stereotypes of social roles based on gender.
  • misogyny - dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women
  • misandry - dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men
  • transphobia - dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against transgender people
  • homophobia - dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against homosexual people
